Sunday Toy Store
We planned on taking it easy this Sunday morning, starting out with a leisurely breakfast, wherein Bran created a fruit rainbow. Pretty cool, Brian! Once we were ready to face the day, we thought we’d visit the toy store, since we had a $5 reward coupon that expired after today. There was a thing or two we remembered from the last time, and we thought we’d keep it under control.. But of course we didn’t! One of the main purchases today was a suitcase for each kid. A...

Today we finally did something we’ve been meaning to do for years–take the kids to the Morehead Planetarium in Chapel Hill! Of course, they have actually been in the building before, but it was for a Lego event, and not for a planetarium show. Today, we saw that they were having a Magic Treehouse-themed show for the kids, and we thought that would be just about perfect. Brian has gotten into that series of books since we picked up the first 12 at his spring book fair, and he has...

Today was the long-awaited Fun in the Sun event at Root! Brian was pretty excited about getting to go to school in his swimsuit, knowing there will be a lot of fun, messy, and wet activities today! We started out with some breakfast in the classroom, and Brandon got an early Father’s day gift from Brian. The kids did some morning activities while us parent volunteers got things set up outside the classroom. We set up a bunch of different stations, from sponge races, to water balloon...

Welcome to June! It’s not officially summer yet, but today was a nice one. 🙂 Brandon took the kids this afternoon, and I went out to lunch and did a little shopping with my friend Jennie. We had a nice sushi lunch and bought some nice-smelling things at The Body Shop. It was a really rare treat to get out on my own with a friend! I’ve been having a rough time of it at work, thanks to being stuck on a death march project. So, this escape was just what I needed. Brandon took...

Today was a Star Wars themed Lego Club meeting, and Brian had a fabulous time! The staff was super-pumped up and really went all out to make this club meeting special. The kids got two minifigures today, both an Anakin and a Battle Droid, plus, they got to keep their creations! Brian of course won a Star Wars trivia question, and got an extra prize. They did parent trivia questions today, and I was a little surprised to find that I knew every single answer. 😉 I quickly won a Lego Club...
Read MoreMonster Stickers
Brian always gets a sticker after speech or OT, and today he noticed there were Monsters University stickers! He knows Kendall loves Sulley so much, so he got her a sticker to match his Mike sticker. What a considerate big brother! Kendall was very pleased....
