Classroom Volunteering
This morning, I volunteered in Brian’s classroom for a couple hours! This was a lot of fun, and I think Brian was really happy to have me there. His teacher suggested that instead of bringing sugary treats for classroom birthday celebrations, we could donate a book to the class instead. Today we had some family pictures made–all 4 of us this time! That was a pretty exhausting endeavor, and my nerves were beyond shot by the end of it. The girl wreaked havoc as usual, screaming bloody murder and leaving a wake of destruction as she rampaged through the studio. “KENDALL SMASH!” doesn’t even begin to cover how this girl behaves on picture day. Brandon’s Birthday!
Today was Brandon’s birthday! He opened up everyone’s cards today, thanks for thinking of him! He had a pile of cards from me and the kids, too. Brian really liked the “Birthday Ninja” card that he gave Brandon (hint: they’re just like regular ninjas, except they sneak up on you to deliver cupcakes!) Tonight was our introduction to Root Elementary’s “Rootin’ Tootin'” fall fundraising celebration. I have never seen such a school event before. There were carnival games, pony rides, a bake sale, a silent auction…! For a small school, there was quite a turnout! The photos don’t really reflect the mass of humanity that was in attendance.
