Kendall’s Hat
Brandon received a hat and shirt today, from his involvement on RDO, the Red Hat Distribution of Openstack. The shirt is quite nice, but as usual, Brandon can’t wear just any old hat, not with his big melon (love you, hon! and your cranium, too.) 😉 But that’s okay, Kendall was perfectly happy to take ownership of the hat, and wore it proudly during her after-bath...
Read MoreDay Out With Thomas!
Today we were off to celebrate a Day Out with Thomas, in Spencer, NC. Brian informed us that he isn’t really into Thomas anymore (this kid is too big for his britches, now that he’s a big kindergartener!) We told him that we were going for Kendall, and he could just come along and support her. Well, once we arrived, Thomas fever took hold, and Brian was having a great time, singing along with all the Thomas songs, taking part in his favorite activities, just like he had in years...
Read MoreBaby Cards!
I came across Kendall’s hospital bassinet card today while scanning some documents.. Amazingly enough, I remembered where Brian’s card was, so I thought I’d scan them both (and put them into their baby books, where they belong). Also included is Kendall’s footprint, which they made for us in the hospital. When Brian was born, they didn’t do footprints at all–we asked! But when Kendall was born, they didn’t take 1-day-old photos anymore. It’s...
Read MoreHockey Night! (Girls’ Night!)
It’s Friday night, it’s time to party! The boys attended the hockey game tonight, so Kendall and I got to spend a fun evening together. We decided to surprise the boys by making chocolate pudding for dessert! I put the kids’ servings in the Clone Wars cups. Kendall was pretty impressed with this chocolate treat! Later on, after her bath really should have been over and all the water had drained out, she refused to get out of the tub! I mean really refused, fighting and...
Read MoreLegos, Tacos, and a Neighborhood Friend
Today we mostly stayed home, and Brian built his new Coast Guard plane! He was pretty interested to learn about the pontoons. He did get distracted along the way, building his own creations–but eventually he saw it through and he was really glad. We played outside just a bit, and a little girl who was walking in the neighborhood with her aunt came by to play with Brian. Abby was really enthusiastic about seeing Brian’s toys, and he was more than happy to tell her about all of...
Read MoreVisiting the Duck Park
Today we decided to head out to Shelley Lake to feed the ducks! It had been awhile, and we had a ton of bread heels to distribute. It started feeling like fall today, so Kendall wore her first long sleeves of the year and her sparkly red corduroy pants. I’d been waiting months for her to be able to wear this shirt! It’s an adorable parody of the classic AC/DC logo, but it says AB/CD instead, to fit in with the preschool set. 😉 It makes me chuckle! It attracted a lot of...
