LEGO Camp at Pullen
This week, Brian had two half-day LEGO camps at Pullen Park. In the morning he had Bricks 4 Kidz – A Pirate’s Quest and in the afternoon Bricks 4 Kidz – Gadgets and Gizmos Workshop. Great! Except that they don’t cover lunch. Luckily, Red Hat Tower is just minutes away from the park, so I got to have lunch with my little man all week-long. I promised him we could do one special ride each day if he could eat his lunch promptly when I got him. Here are some snapshots I got each day: Day 1:...

Well, it’s the last day of our trip in Colorado! It always goes by so quick. Today, we started as we did a lot of days of this trip with a competitive game of Uno. We decided to do a quick site-seeing tour of my old stomping grounds of northern Colorado Springs, known as Briargate. We drove by my first house, 8440 Freemantle Dr. Although the paint and landscaping was different, it looked quite similar to how I remembered. Then, we drove by my second house, 8810 Alpine Valley Dr. Here,...

The kids got a new electric toothbrush! It’s a Sonicare for Kids. Hopefully they will like it, I think our Sonicare helps us keep our teeth healthy. We upgraded our brush as well. I messed up when I bought our second one a few years ago, and got a cheap model that didn’t have the four-quadrant timer to make sure you brush evenly. I made sure this time that our new one has it, as does the kids’ brush. We spent the day at home playing games like Cootie, and with the Lego...

Today the whole family packed-up for a trip to the Wings Over Wayne air show in Goldsboro. It is held at Seymour Johnson AFB in alternating years with the MCAS Cherry Point air show in Havelock. Brian is still definitely into planes, and I think Kendall is starting to get into it as well. She was a real trooper getting over her rash post-antibiotics. Getting to the flight-line wasn’t bad with the shuttle-bus. But, after the Thunderbirds performed, there was such a rush to leave that it...

Guess who was on the big board at work? Brandon, the safety warden of the week. 🙂 We finally used our Easter eggs to make our traditional egg salad today (a couple days later than I like to do it, but it was still good!) Kendall wanted me to twirl her hair up in a bun this evening. It’s long enough to make a pretty substantial...

Tonight, after school, we headed over to the PNC Arena for the Carolina Hurricanes Kids Club Party. It is kind of a mini-version of the bigger “Skate with the Canes,” focused on the younger fans. Festivities got started up with a cut-throat game of “Stormy Says” (exactly the same as Simon says, except you have to do what Stormy the Ice Hog says). Problem is, Stormy doesn’t talk, he’s a mascot after all. So, the game is narrated by Shane Willis, a retired...
