Swords and Shields!
Brian first spotted these at ToysRUs quite awhile ago, and I wasn’t sure he’d still be into them now–but oh boy, am I glad I decided to get two sets! Both kids just love their foam swords and shields. I suppose it’s because of the Dragon movie being such a huge deal for them right now (leaving aside the fact that these don’t look like Viking gear in the...
Read MoreElla’s Birthday Party
Way-back in preschool, Brian seemed to have about three birthday parties a month by the time he graduated. But, with Kindergarten, and a whole lot of new people, the parties settled-down to a more manageable number. It has almost gotten to the point where I miss them. So, what luck, Ella had a Birthday pool party! This was especially fun since it was the middle of summer break, so a lot of Mrs. Boswell’s kids and parents got together to catch up and have fun poolside. There were...
Read MoreJuly Playdate with Ty
This morning, I surprised Kendall with a felt cupcake I made for her last night. I think it’s safe to say she liked it! 🙂 We had grand plans for a splash day playdate with Ty today, soaking up all the July sun and heat we could handle. We splashed and played and played with sprinklers and such, on the already-muddiest summer...

At the end, there was a special surprise–a lady came by with some turtle-themed prizes! Brian chose a mask, which we both thought was cooler than the foam finger. 😉 Next, we were off to Brian’s reading class over at NC State. On the way home from class, we picked up lunch for everyone at...
Read MoreArt Camp Roundup!
Today was Brian’s last day of his Ancient Adventures art camp, and honestly, before this afternoon, we didn’t have a clue as to what he’d been working on all week! Of course we asked him, but usually all he felt like talking about was playing at after-care, or nothing at all. Certainly nothing about the ancient Greeks and Romans! We weren’t even sure if he was having a great time there..! But today, all of that changed, when we came to his art show. We had told...
