Spring Break Beach Trip!  Day 2

Our education spring break beach trip rolls on, as today we went to the Crystal Coast Visitor Center, Beaufort, and the NC Maritime Museum (or the “Pirate Museum”, as the kids call it!)  Brian continued to take good notes, and both kids enjoyed doing the scavenger hunt.  Everyone likes the Lego Pirate Ship that was on display–it’s out of production, but I might try to track it down (Kendall really likes the mermaid!)  We had a passable lunch at the Royal James Cafe...

Spring Break Beach Trip!  Day 1

We lost most of Spring Break, thanks to the two solid weeks of snow days..  However, we’re pressing forward with our planned trip to the beach!  Sue wasn’t able to come down with us, and it just isn’t the same without her–and my dad.  I keep expecting to see him sitting out on the deck, drinking his morning coffee.  I’m having some pretty tough moments, where the grief really hits me..  So much of him is in this house, this place, this saltwater wind and waving...

‘Canes Alumni Game

The annual ‘Canes Alumni Game came around right before our trip to the beach. Kendall, Brian, and myself went as Alison was wanting to get things finished up around the house before we left. Brian’s 1st Hockey Game!

Days do not get much busier than this! The day started with another LEGO Club meeting for Brian. He built a really cool ship for his robot build! But, that wasn’t all, even for this morning. We also signed Brian up for a Dandelion Painting Art Class taught by his regular art teacher at Root, Tia Salton.
