Brandon’s Birthday!
Today was Brandon’s birthday! He opened up everyone’s cards today, thanks for thinking of him! He had a pile of cards from me and the kids, too. Brian really liked the “Birthday Ninja” card that he gave Brandon (hint: they’re just like regular ninjas, except they sneak up on you to deliver cupcakes!) Today we packed up and hit the road early to visit the zoo! The kids watched Star Wars on the drive, and then we set out to explore. It was a really hot day, but we still visited all of our usual stops along the trail. I was happy to see my favorites, the ocelot, the bobcat, and the otters. Today Brandon and I took a walk during lunchtime and noticed that we could see the newly-unveiled top of Red Hat Tower. (It has been covered up with scaffolding for months.) It’s awfully.. Brandon and I got to enjoy a rare night out at the NC Symphony! It was a Sci-Fi Spectacular, featuring music from Star Wars, Star Trek, and many other TV shows and movies that we like. Plus, a special appearance by Mr. George Takei himself! We were also surprised to see a number of Star Wars characters in full costume. We posed for some photo ops to share with Brian.
