Let’s Get a Pumpkin!
Today sure was a busy one! The kids were playing bright and early with their playsilk dress-ups, Duplos, and the toy animal hospital, which Kendall has been rather interested in lately. We went out and did a little shopping today to get outfits for everyone to wear for our family photo, which was a rather harrowing experience for us parents, but I think the kids actually had some fun. Today we were off to the State Fair! This year we went on Brandon’s birthday, like we went on my birthday last year. As we usually do, we met up with the Orazi family early, and went to get biscuits for breakfast. The fair is usually not so crowded early in the morning, but this year, we could tell it was going to be a record-breaker–it was pretty crowded to start with! Today was one of those rare days where Kendall had a teacher workday, and Brian didn’t! Brandon and I both stayed home today and took turns hanging with her, and working. She and Brandon took a trip to the Bass Pro Shops this morning (yup, after more Plano boxes!) and she came home with a cute Tinkerbell fishing rod! Our third time attending a Fresh Beat Band concert was today. As a reminder, the first time we saw them we travelled to Norfolk, VA to see them. At the time, we had no idea how long they would be doing these concerts or how many locations. It was a huge deal to Brian at the time that we actually went on a weekday to see them. Later, we saw them the second time when they actually came to Raleigh, to the Red Hat Amphitheatre no less, and we watched the whole thing in a figurative monsoon....

This morning, the kids were being so silly, dancing and playing with their playsilks and the chaise lounge pillow. When Brian was wearing that pillow+scarf on his head, he (inexplicably and repeatedly) called it his “Taco Hat”. (edit: Kendall evidently remembers that, since she put the pillow on her head and called it “Taco Hat” today–January 2, 2015!! The girl remembers ev-ar-y-thing.)
