Sort-of Snow Day Friday
Gahh!! Snow day again today. There’s no snow outside our window, or in much of the area, but I suppose they are using an abundance of caution in case any slippery roads remain. The boys braved the “treacherous” conditions (ha! ha!) this evening to go to the hockey game. I’m sure they were glad to get out for awhile! It was sort of a long week. Today was a busy one! We started out early with the kids waking us up to go and watch a squirrel in a tree outside our bathroom window (the height of excitement, truly). Nana Rosemary came by this morning for some more baking, and this time we made red velvet cupcakes! The kids made some more holiday crafts (I keep a lot of options on hand to keep them busy!) After the blast Brian had last year doing Skate With The Canes, there was no way we were missing it this year! Another great time was had by all. The ever popular inflatables were there for bouncing and shooting pucks. We got a holiday photo with John-Michael Liles, Jiri Tlusty, Ron Hainsey, and Jeff Skinner. Any day you can go to a hockey game it’s a good day, but the result may not have been exactly as we would have liked. Even though the Carolina Hurricanes put up 45 shots (about 50% more than average) and the San Jose Sharks only had 19 shots on goal (about 33% less than average), the ‘Canes were shut-out in a 2-0 loss at home.
