Easter Sunday
Happy Easter! We sure had an awesome one. We started off the day with the kids getting their Easter baskets and presents, and they were so surprised! We had collected a number of really cool presents for them, including a Lego Star Wars Battle of Hoth game that wasn’t even release in the US. Brian liked his Lego City game so much, and since Empire is one of his favorite Star Wars movies, I knew he just had to have it. Kendall got the Duplo Cinderella Castle that she liked so much...
Read MoreEgg Coloring
Tomorrow is Easter, so that means today is egg coloring day! Kendall was able to participate this year, and she really enjoyed it! We did some traditional coloring, and some iridescent shimmery sort of eggs as well–those were particularly messy (and sort of stinky!) so I don’t think we’ll do those again. Brian came up with some interesting coloring techniques this year, and Kendall seemed to just enjoy everything about the process. The kids played with Legos a lot, and...
Read MoreDino Egg Hunt!
Today we were off to Durham for more Easter-themed fun! The Museum of Life+Science has a Dino Egg Hunt annually, and we’d hoped to attend last year, but it didn’t work out. We did manage it this year, and the kids had a fantastic time! We visited some of their favorite things, like the boats, and the Soundspace 2 room, but the main attraction was the egg hunt! It was located in the woods adjacent to the dinosaur trail, in an area that isn’t usually open to the public. It...
Read MoreBoosterthon!!!
The long-awaited Boosterthon is here!! I volunteered and helped at the water station (along with about eight other moms)! There were so many parents in attendance, that there were an overabundance of us water folks, lap counters, and high-fivers! Brandon and Kendall were in attendance as well. We waited outside for the Kindergarten and first grade students to come out, and eventually they did, in a big Olympic-style parade! Each classroom had their own team name and banner made up for the...
Read MoreSweet Sunday
Today we (thankfully!) stayed at home, which was just what we needed after all of yesterday’s adventures! The kids made a pretend fishtank with some of the random plastic fish that were in their Easter eggs yesterday. We all played Legos a lot, and I was pretty pleased with the miniature pink castle I made. 😉 We enjoyed the rest of our cupcakes from yesterday after dinner, and Brian was able to talk with Grandpa Roger on the phone....
Read MoreDouble Egg Hunt Saturday
Ohh, today was another super busy Saturday! We started off bright and early at Brian’s last swimming lesson! He’s completed the full series at Rex now. It was a beautiful morning, and I really enjoyed the cherry blossoms outside the wellness center. They were so beautiful in the sunlight. Brandon and Kendall caught up with us after the lesson, and together we all headed over to Laurel Hills for the Easter egg hunt there. It was a nice one, with lots of games and such for the...
