Play Ball!
Today we saw some of our Goddard friends again, when we went to see a baseball game! This was a special family game at the Durham Bulls, sponsored by the Goddard School. The kids got into the spirit early, wearing baseball caps as we were getting ready to go. Once we arrived, we were happy to see that Brian’s friend Selah and her dad were in attendance, and sitting near us. Mr. Malay gave Brian and Selah new Durham Bulls hats, and Ms. Vineeta came by to sit with us for awhile....

Another busy Saturday! This morning I had to step out early to get my hair done, while Brandon and the kids headed to Lowes for another Build and Grow event! Today Brian built a Pizza Planet delivery car, as featured in the Toy Story movies. Poor Kendall had to watch from her stroller! Brian had been begging for a key from the custom key cutting area in Lowes–a house key printed with an M&M pattern. Brandon gave in, and even had it cut for him–so now Brian has his first...

Ah, summer–when we get piles and piles of sweet corn in our Produce Box, and the kids have Splash Day at Goddard School once a week. It’s so much fun for the kids, getting to go to school in their swimsuits–but as excited as they are, they can get distracted by the cat piano. Sometimes you just have to jam a little before school, I guess! We’re having a lot of sweet corn lately, and Kendall will no longer tolerate her corn being cut off the cob. She reacts with all...

It’s new shoes day at the Perkins household–and not to be totally predictable, but it’s Hello Kitty and Star Wars! 🙂 I thought they were so cute together. Kendall was very cute this morning, rocking out to the toy radio. She seems pretty proud of her new Kitty shoes! Also, here’s a picture of one of Brian’s many artworks on the wall at school. I love it when his teachers transcribe his narratives of what his drawings are about. I can tell they do it with as...

With the top floor’s air conditioning unit being broken for the past few days (why does this sort of thing always happen around a holiday?!) it finally became unbearable upstairs.. So, we had a family sleepover, together on the middle level. Brandon and I had the pull-out couch, Brian had the other couch, and Kendall (to her great displeasure) was in the pack’n’play. Not the most comfortable, but we made the most of it! The kids made all sorts of pillow forts and blanket...

Today we invited the Orazis over for a backyard pool party and cookout! The weather was great, and between the splash pool and a pile squirt toys, the kids had a blast! Brandon set up all sorts of sprinklers to go along as well. He and Brian had a bit of fun at Lowes getting short lengths of hose, splitters, and sprinklers of all kinds. 😉 The boys were just as rough-and-tumble as you’d expect, but they seemed to look out for Kendall a bit. She didn’t need much looking out for,...
